First aid – is a set of emergency actions that must be provided to the victim before professional medical assistance arrives. These skills can be decisive in critical situations when every minute counts. First aid knowledges is necessary not only for future drivers, security guards, gun carriers, education workers, airport workers, railway workers, etc., but also for everyone who wants to feel confident and safe in everyday life.
How does the training proceed?
Training in the first aid course depends on the chosen (required) course and continues from one to five lessons, with a total duration of 12 to 40 academic hours.
Usually, training begins with the theoretical part. You will get bases of the first aid, learn about the rules of behavior in emergency situations, and also basic techniques such as wound treatment, burn care, actions during cardiopulmonary resuscitation and much more.
After the theory, students move on to practice under the guidance of a teacher. Here you will be able to apply the theoretical knowledges, you have acquired, in practice. At the end of the 15-hour course, a test is conducted consisting of 20 questions, where no more than 4 mistakes are allowed. At the end of the 40-hour course, a test is conducted consisting of 100 questions, where no more than 10 mistakes are allowed.
What knowledge and skills you will gain?
After completing the first aid course, you will learn how to:
– Provide assistance in road accidents and other emergency situations.
– Act in case of hypothermia or overheating, ensuring the correct temperature regime of the victim.
– Treat wounds received from animal bites or as a result of other injuries.
– Treat burns of the skin.
– Perform indirect heart massage and artificial respiration.
– Assess the situation and quickly make decisions in emergency cases.

Certificates and validity periods
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate confirming completion of training in first aid. This document is required to pass the theoretical exam in CSDD, VTUA, state police, etc. and is valid for 5 years. After this period, it is recommended to retake the course to update your knowledge and skills.
